Welcome to the Journey

On February 26, 2014, I will be tour cycling 1900km. Beginning in Adelaide, cycling across to the Great Ocean Road, on to Melbourne, then continuing inland to conclude in Sydney on March 21.

Cycling to March is a journey over 24 days, focusing on:
- Melanoma Awareness for young Australians
- Raising money to find a cure
- Celebrating the memory of my older sister Tess Bernadette McGowan Chan

Tess was only 30 years young when diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer and passed away 11 months later.

Melanoma Cancer does affect young Australians and there is now an annual event called Melanoma March which I will be cycling to raise awareness of.

We welcome your participation.

About Me

I'm Raphael and I'm the one cycling from Adelaide to Sydney. I'm one of Tess' brothers. Tess has three brothers and three sisters.

Preventative action can be taken via regular skin checks and following the Melanoma Institute's "Sun 5 Strategy".

The more young Australians who participate in Melanoma March means there is hope that awareness of Melanoma Cancer and its effects is growing.

  • To raise over $100,000 for Melanoma research to find a cure

I have seen firsthand when a young loved one is diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer and what the devastating pain and sadness that is present in the lives of all those on the 'cancer' journey.

Let's, together, help to make a hopeful difference to someone's life by raising money, which is directly used for research to find a cure and make a difference with someone's life.
